COMMISSION
A PORTRAIT

I am currently taking commissions for: September
Allow 3 weeks for completion and 1 week to ship.

A pet portrait will immortalise your best friend and their unique personality.

Where do we start?

Step 1: Contact me with what colour option and size you would like to order (options listed below), and attach your favourite photo of your pet. The better the lighting and the clearer the details are in your photo (especially the eyes and facial features), the more alive their likeness will be.

Step 2: Once I have OK’d the photo, and we have both agreed on the project details and the price, a 20% deposit will secure your portrait.

Step 3: Leave the drawing up to me! I will send an initial composition for you to OK. Please note, once I start drawing the details, it is not possible to make changes. Once you approve the final, I will invoice and ship your drawing to you.

What are your prices?

These prices are a guide, for a single pet. There may be an extra charge for more than one pet in a portrait or for backgrounds. Please contact me for a personalised quote.

Where do you ship to?

Australia: Postage is $10. The drawing will be posted unframed, flat and well-protected, with tracking.

International: US, Canada, UK = Yes. Contact me for a shipping quote to your country. Sorry, I do not currently offer shipping to the EU. International orders may be subject to customs fees upon arrival, which you will need to pay.

Do you offer returns?

I will refund you if the product arrives to you creased across the image, torn or wet. Send me evidence of the damage for a refund. I do not accept “change of mind” returns and you will not get your deposit returned if you decide you do not want the final drawing. I put a lot of time and soul into each piece.

How should I handle the art?

Hold the drawing on the edges only. Please, do not touch the pastel! I do spray with a light layer of fixative, but the pastel will still smudge if you touch it. I will include handling and framing guidelines when I post the artwork to you.

Do you offer framing?

No. Framing is a very personal thing, so you are better off choosing a local framer that will work with you to meet your style and budget. As I work with pastels, loose particles can drop down, so framing should have matting or spacers which will also prevent the art from touching the glass.

Do you offer prints?

No. I do not offer prints, as my interest is in quality, original works of art. You are welcome to make your own print copies of your pet drawing for family and friends, but not for commercial use.

What materials do you work with?

I use Faber-Castell Pitt pastel pencils, and Derwent pastel pencils, on sand coloured Pastelmat by Clairefontaine.
